Stop Being So Cheap

Postby triplec1988 » Tue Apr 01, 2008 4:11 am

Flamini is worth the 75k a week. Period. He does most of the work in the midfield, shit we could not do without. He doesn't get the glory, he just shows up each week and balls. He has been one of the most cosistant player we have had and unlike other players, he steps up huge in big games. The cost and trouble of replacing him is just not worth it and on top of that he knows our system and he has friends here. He is one of the most under appreciated player in the prem and I shudder to think where we would be this season without him. He is clearly part of our future. So Arsenal, stop fooling around and give the kid his contract already. Show the fans that you want to keep spectacular talent at the club, not just ship it off to Italy and Spain.

This is the fucking reason why we haven't won a single trophy in the last two years, and why we screwed a 5 points difference this year.

He isn't out the door yet, but all of the reports of him leaving are simply agrivating. Wenger has been saying forever that he hopes he will sign soon for like 3 months now. Just give him the contract and end the speculation.

villa, has hardly set the world alight in previous seasons , got a fair few goals but ade has more plus we already have 3 top quality forwards when eduardo comes back, plus 3 potentially excellent strikers in vela, bendtner and walcott

modric. gone over this plenty of times, we cant sign him while rosicky is still here, there 2 similar and there both 2 good to be in the ame squad, one will be happy, rosickys will be injury free next season and if he does become plagued again then yea get rid and bring someone in!

quaresma, good player would give us different options, but again someone would have to be sold as he wont accept a place on the bench neither will rosicky or hleb

Wenger originally said that he expected to have a deal done in March. Starting a little over a week ago he said he expected it to be done in April. Flamini has already said in interviews that he wants to stay.

we advertised him nicely in the ac milan match and now he's gone for sure coz arsene or the board are so fuckin tight we wont cough up the extra money that he wants.

Bollocks, Flamini, is staying. Its usual for this kind of thing to happen. Once the dust settles at the end of the season Im sure he will sit down and sign a deal.

So did Thierry Henry....

I realize contract negotiations aren't a simple matter but Flamini doesn't negotiate his own contract. It's the board and his agent. Simple fact is, that one of them is a cunt.

Three months is a long time for any contract negotiation. Most of the details should have been sorted out previously but I think the wages are the main thing that they're haggling about.

trust me, flamini right now is figuring out how much he's gonna earn in euros instead of pounds.

Why? United have Carrick, Anderson, Hargreaves and Scholes in CM. Modric and Tomas can play all across the midfield and it's likely Tomas is going to pick up several injuries again.

If he doesn't want to fight for his place, then he can fuck off.

i have a REAL bad feeling about this.

hopefully they come to a compromise.

i CAN see why theyre being careful about pay rises.

if ONE gets a pay rise, the whole squad will start screaming for one

While I realize that this isn't FIFA 08 and I don't just click sign and bam Flamini stays three months seems absurdly long. Especially when you take into account what sort of player he has been for us this season. And it isn't like we don't have the money to pay him 75k or 70k a week like his agents are appearantly asking for. This should have been wrapped up in March like Wenger said it would have been. Instead the fans get to be dragged through some long bullshit about if he stays or goes and the longer the goes on the more likely I think he is to leave. I just don't get it, it seems like so much less of a hastle to keep a player who is so important that to go out and find a new one.
